Villa Sager

1990 - 2007 · Arabie Saoudite, Jeddah · Habitation » Individuelle

It's a family house in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The building is composed of two L-shaped bodies articulated around a courtyard regulating vertical and horizontal circulation. The space composition of the house is articulated around the division man/women.

The symmetrical principal facade is reserved to the men; the asymmetrical side facade is reserved to the women. The project interpreted some of the elements of the traditional local architecture like the natural stone and the openings: generous glazed openings or small windows, protected by the clusters.

The division man/women determine the spatial organization of the house. The symmetrical principle façade is reserved to men, the asymmetrical side façade to women. The project uses some elements of the local traditional architecture, like the natural stone and the openings: generous glazed openings or small windows, protected by the clusters.
